Title – Prep/Line Cook 

Description – Ash & Elm Cider Co. is seeking a full-time and part-time Prep/Line Cook for both the downtown Indianapolis and Carmel taproom locations. Prep/Line Cook duties will consist of preparing all dishes and assisting the kitchen manager with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals. Weekday and weekend availability is preferred. 

Responsibilities 

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies

  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, slicing meat, or preparing sauces)

  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

  • Answer, report to, and follow kitchen manager’s instructions

  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food

  • Stock inventory appropriately

  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Required/Preferred Experience

  • Awareness of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

  • Ability to focus and prioritize on the fly

  • Ability to maintain a cool head under pressure 

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to cooperate and work well with other members in a small team

  • Preferred one-year of line cook experience

Compensation - This position pays $16-$19 per hour, based on experience. Full-time employees have paid time off, an employer-matched IRA, and other benefits.
